I'm a PhD candidate at the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University. My research, located at the intersection of literary and social studies, examines women’s self-writing practices in the Hindi sphere. I also teach in the English Department of Zakir Husain College and particularly enjoy teaching language and communication in multilingual classrooms.

The foundations of my research and pedagogic objectives were laid in the five years I spent in MH for BA and MA-- in the electrifying conversations in its corridors and verdant lawns with friends, teachers and acquaintances from all across the country. Miranda is the space, beyond the privacy of home and the publicness of Delhi streets, where I received tools to value experience and learn from listening and observation.

Studying in Miranda House re-kindled my fascination and fire for storytelling and research in the intersection of literature and culture. As I always wished to give back something to my hometown, I returned to Assam and completed my M.Phil at Gauhati University on female solidarity in the times of conflict in Assam. Currently, I am pursuing my doctoral research on the figure of the “Virangana” in literature and cinema. My papers have been published in well-known journals. I enjoy teaching and am an Assistant Professor in B. Borooah College under Gauhati University in Assam. I try to give my students what I learnt in Miranda from my own teachers. In my spare time, I write poetry and short stories, a few of which have also been published.

If my eighteen-year-old self were to see me now, she probably wouldn’t recognize me. A lot of it has to do with my time at Miranda House. Moving to Delhi after finishing school was the most adventurous and intimidating thing I had ever done. I can hardly believe how life has unfolded since then, and I credit MH for whatever little I have managed to achieve. MH opened my eyes to the world. I am forever grateful for having been given an opportunity to study in what is possibly the best English department in the country. I still use every day, as I write my doctoral thesis, the skills that I learnt from the guidance of my brilliant, compassionate, outstanding professors there.

In the summer of 2014, I, like many others seeking higher education post standard XII, found myself on the doorsteps of Miranda House. Being an awkward kid with braces in a new city, everything from concrete buildings, road crossings, to classmates seemed daunting. Years later, I came to realize that my host of insecurities were not specific to just me; my post-graduate years and M.Phil years at Ambedkar University Delhi (2017- 2021) were crucial at helping me arrive at a sense of community. Reading indigenous writers helped me locate my beginnings—of research methodologies, of home, of identity conflicts, of language systems, and their translation(s)—as a research fellow at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi).

Relocating to New Delhi from a small town in Rajasthan for higher education was a big move. If I got a chance to go back to 2014 and do this all over again, I would still choose Miranda House (MH) as studying literature has been one of the most fulfilling life experiences. It carved out of me, a feminist, a scholar, and an active member of society. The department created a safe space for me to fall and make mistakes. I credit my decision to pursue PhD at the University of Washington to the teachers at MH who first instilled in me the joy of reading literature from various parts of the world. In particular, I am forever indebted to Dr. Saswati Sengupta for initiating me into the scholarship of South Asian literature.

I have joined the Department of Communication, University of California, San Diego as a doctoral student, and I will be studying visual cultures in protracted conflict settings. I received the Katzin Award, a prize awarded to the top academic doctoral students at UCSD. I was a fellow at Salzburg Global Seminar, Austria; a Charpak Scholar at Sciences Po, Paris; and a Mother Teresa Fellow at Ashoka University where I did my postgraduate studies. My interest in visual studies was shaped at Miranda University as I worked with my classmates on the representation of Kashmir in Hindi films for a seminar and jointly wrote a chapter for the anthology, “Bad” Women of Bombay Cinema (2019). Along with academic rigour, MH cultivated my feminist ideals, inculcated a strong sense of community, and provided me with unwavering support.

I credit my undergraduate and graduate degrees in English Literature at Miranda House for providing me with a solid foundation for an academic career and subsequent transition into social impact and sustainability. After six years of working as an Assistant Professor of English in Delhi University, I transitioned into the growing field of sustainability. I've worked in a non-profit organization specializing in Waste Management in the eco-sensitive Himalayan region, putting into action the critical thinking and passion for problem-solving which are cultivated carefully by the MH English Department. Throughout this journey, I have received generous support from my professors to follow my dreams. I am now excited to begin an MBA in Sustainable Innovation (2022) to advance my career in ESG, clean-energy and similar sustainable ventures by small and big firms.

I graduated from Miranda House in 2013 with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and an MA in 2015. Dissatisfied after two years as a journalist, I decided to take some time off. Meanwhile, I began teaching in a high school to keep myself “occupied”. Before long, it became my calling.

I currently teach English and Critical Thinking in Mallya Aditi International School, Bangalore. Much of my love for teaching grows out of the years I spent at MH. I vividly remember the joy of discovery each time a professor introduced us to new approaches to texts. Teaching allows me to revisit texts we studied in college and make them engaging for students who have access to digital media like never before.

In Miranda, we did not only read novels and plays, but also engaged deeply with the issues around us. This training helped me explore other domains- philosophy, history, politics- which enable us to understand the world critically and in a holistic manner. Indeed, I had the most delightful time in our classroom, while discussing, understanding, analysing and critiquing the textual and social worlds. The exposure which these five years provided me changed the way I perceived the world. It made me decide to work towards working for change. A school is the best place to begin this journey of change, hence I enrolled myself in the B.Ed programme in 2018. In 2020, I started working at Delhi Public School, R.K Puram (senior wing). Currently, I am working with their junior wing at East of Kailash.

Studying literature in Miranda House was a transformative experience, one which acted as a major influence on my life. The college and its highly qualified faculty provide a liberal space for students where they can discuss and debate various issues, both contemporary and otherwise. I owe my decision of becoming a teacher to the progressive and dialogic college culture which shaped my thoughts and ideas. After my Masters, I worked for some time as an English language trainer and content writer, but I soon decided to follow my passion for school teaching. I've been working as a PGT (postgraduate) English teacher since 2019 and have contributed to this profession in my own little way. I've always believed that teachers play a pivotal role in moulding and mentoring the youth of a country.

When I walked into Miranda House for the first time in 2014, I didn’t realise how much of my life and choices would be shaped here. My professors, and the readings they assigned, gave us someperspective on the world around us. They gave us space to question everything we had been taught and helped us to form our opinions. Towards the end of my Masters Programme in Delhi University, I wanted to bring my learning and my experiences to the classroom. I worked in Khaitan Public School (Ghaziabad) for a year and then began working in Delhi Public School (East of Kailash). Since I had enjoyed the paper on popular literature and children’s fiction, I found myself better able to connect with young students.

Towards the end of my third year in college I had also started to feel a crisis of purpose, one that brought me to social work, and to the Teach For India Fellowship. As part of my program, I was placed in a low-income government school in Delhi. This is where the empathy that comes from studying literature helped me as I had to place myself in the positions of my students and their families to better understand their needs and figure out how to support them the best. The Fellowship experience has brought me more questions about Development in India than it has solved. I am looking forward to my Master's degree in Development Studies as I hope to research the important linkages between praxis and theory.

Literature taught me the fundamentals of reading—not just reading a book, but reading culture as it evolves, reading people and their perspectives and reading patterns of social, technological, political change aroundus. In my practice in Brand and Design Strategy, I hone the skill of combining analysis with imagination, something that I first learnt in our brilliant MH Eng Lit classroom, in the company of great professors who opened up worlds, page by page. After graduation, I completed my MBA with a specialization in Management Communications from MICA (Ahmedabad) and I started my career as a Brand Strategist with BBH, a global advertising agency.

I’ve now ventured into the world of branding and marketing consultancy, and I work primarily with exciting Indian businesses to help them build their brand with modern media.

The time I spent at Miranda House was truly memorable. The English Hons. course honed my verbal and written communication skills, as well as my critical thinking. It paved the way for a career in PR and communications. Over the past 5 years, I have worked at award-winning global PR consultancies, partnered with leading brands like Taj Hotels, Etihad Airways, Marriott International and Viacom18 and ed branding and communications for a Digital Marketing agency. In 2020, I was awarded the Director General’s Honour for Community outreach and Social Communication during the lockdown period. The feeling of contributing towards societal good was deeply gratifying. MH has certainly played a crucial role in laying the foundation of my career.

I am a corporate communications professional with two master’s degrees. I have spent the last 6 years working closely with C-Level Executives at Fortune 500 companies from across industries. I create business communication strategies and equip leaders with the latest digital tools & channels. Currently, I am stationed at Thales Canada, Toronto and I love what I do! I owe a big part of my professional satisfaction and success to my alma mater- Miranda House and English Literature—which will always remain the foundation of rational and strategic thinking for me. Thanks to the strong female leadership and supportive professors, I have transformed my life into the one I desire. MH gave me the real skills I needed to face the world; it was the perfect experience of self-discovery (through art & literature) and growth.

Three years of English Honours at Miranda House acted as a strong foundation for my future endeavors in terms of educational diversity and soft skills. These experiences opened up a myriad opportunities in fields such as media, academia, management, and even in the field of technology. Fresh out of college, I worked as a Trainee Editor with an Indian news media publishing company while also devoting some of my effort to prepare for higher education. In 2018, I secured admission into IIM Calcutta for their full-time residential two-year MBA programme (2018-2020) with the intention of pursuing majors in Marketing. I am currently an Associate Product Manager at Ola in Bangalore, and I am primarily responsible for merchandising and UX properties for multiple businesses of Ola within the app.

In the many SoPs that I have written and interviews that I have sat in, I’ve always spoken with the skills that studying literature at Miranda House has helped me with; but what I leave out is the struggle one has with oneself. Life after literature is difficult. I know, that’s hardly an encouraging start, but before you quit reading and settle for a conventionally ‘safer’ course, a quick Google search tells me that what I make at my first job makes me eligible to be included in the coveted top 10%-income- bracket-club in the country. I am no activist, I work in a brand management role in a corporate structure, but I ask questions, I say no to bad ideas, and I urge young people to always ask 'why'.

In 2015, I had walked into the red building of my dreams with a shaky sense of self-worth. Three years later, I emerged as a self-assured and determined young woman with a robust and lifelong support system of friends and professors. My exposure equipped me to navigate a diverse career path which includes a Sales and Marketing stint as a Business Development Associate in an organic FMCG startup as well as a dream internship with Hindustan Unilever while pursuing my MBA at IIM Kozhikode. Looking back, I realise I’ve imbibed a never-say-never attitude from the headstrong women who have been an integral part of the Miranda experience. I carry those values with me every day as I set out to make a career in S&M and hope to do justice to my alma mater.

It was my love for books and reading that led me to study English Literature and it was the same love which led me to pursue a career in the publishing industry. Studying at Miranda helped me cultivate my passions and it has given me the brand and the credibility that helped me achieve all I wanted to. The company of all the glorious women - my teachers and my peers - that I enjoyed for three years, helped carve the path I am on today.

I have been working as a Marketing and Communications professional in the publishing industry for over four years now and have been with reputed publishing houses including Hachette and Harper Collins. Presently, I am at Penguin and am having the best run handling the Penguin Classics list and working as publicist for authors like Gulzar, Ruskin Bond and the International Booker Prize winner, Geetanjali Shree.

Owing to my varied experiences at Miranda House, I have been able to expand my professional horizons in several ways. As a student of MH and a member of one of Delhi University's most prestigious Western dance groups, I had the opportunity to experiment and develop my creative skills.

MH strengthened my ability to explore and I went on to co-found Khoj.city, a platform for helping small businesses and underprivileged women to grow. It gave me the opportunity to push my professional boundaries as a Content Strategist and an extended member of exciting startups. I also completed a course curated by MICA X Upgrad to ensure my thoughts were results-oriented and technically sound. I am currently working with Hapramp studio where we are creating a tool, GoSocial to help creators monetise and create better.

After graduating from Miranda House in 2013, I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Journalism from Asian College of Journalism (2014). Currently, I am a multimedia reporter at the World Association of News Publishers, a German company with media members in more than 100 countries. I write on digital news trends with a specialised focus on revenue streams, media transformation, women in news, and technology-aided innovation. I’ve worked at Hindustan Times (Delhi Bureau) as a Senior Content Producer (2014-18) where I was responsible for designing and editing the city newspaper pages, and later, for managing breaking news.After spending a decade in Delhi, and a few years in Chennai, I’m currently based in Bangalore and like to explore the city’s theatre and coffee offerings.

Back in 2012, it took all of one visit to the MH campus—a college that came highly recommended by friends and teachers, even those back home in Sri Lanka-- for me to decide that this was where I wanted to pursue my love for the written word and hone my skills to become a journalist. At MH I realised I had as much to learn from my teachers and peers as I did from books and essays. I felt constantly encouraged to question perceptions, to re-read histories and to express oneself in sharper, clearer, more critical ways.

After Miranda, I returned to a career in journalism in SL, after completing a Masters in Postcolonial and World Literatures at the University of St. Andrews, UK on a Chevening scholarship in 2017-2018.

After our cocooned school lives, Miranda House was like a breath of fresh air. MH teaching opened up doors of critical thinking that we didn’t even know existed. The years spent at Miranda were crucial as they helped in scrutinizing our received and habitual thinking and for opening up exciting avenues of new learning. Miranda House offered a welcome and inclusive space, which helped me, a newly visible Muslim woman to find her voice.

After my graduation, I studied Mass Communication, especially film, photography and cultural media. Throughout my Masters, and subsequently in my professional life, I’ve relied on the foundational skills of critical thinking that we were taught at MH. I take it forward in my work as a producer with Newslaundry where I direct and produce our flagship media critique show, Newsance.

Almost 7 years after I took admission in Miranda House for English hons, I can happily say that it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Thanks to my amazing professors (who I will always be indebted to), I widened my horizons and more importantly, I learnt how to 'unlearn', a process I am still in the middle of. It's this experience that made me look at journalism as a serious career option. I took admission in Asian College of Journalism, Chennai, for their integrated journalism course. I am now adept in multi-platform, multi-format storytelling, and I am so excited to begin a career that promises everything except the "9 to 5" boredom which I have always wanted to escape.

Graduating with an English Hons. degree in 2018, after spending three incredible years in one of the best colleges in the country, Miranda House, felt like a dream come true. The English Department honed my skills and instilled in me a sense of confidence. I always had a keen interest in publishing and during the pandemic in 2020, I got an opportunity to work with Taylor and Francis (a renowned international Publishing House) as an Assistant Editor. Currently, I work on the Environment and Sustainability List at Routledge, Taylor & Francis Group. As part of my work, I assist academics from all over the world in the publication process. I am a proud MH alumna and believe that it has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional development.

After completing B.A. English Hons from MH, and then an MA in Literature, I joined the editorial department at Yoda Press as an Editor. My degree in English enabled me to have a unique multidisciplinary perspective, since editing requires close reading and critical thought. At Yoda, I spent my time at work reading and developing manuscripts with path-breaking ideas and scholarships In March 2022 I joined the Museum of Art and Photography (MAP), Bengaluru, as a Research Editor. At MAP, where research is constantly evolving as new findings come to light, I can use my training in literary theory, introduced to me at MH. I am currently working with South Asian art history scholars who are writing online courses, for all age groups, with a caste- and gender-sensitive lens.

At Miranda, I saw the power of stories, how they could bring changes big and small. So, for my master's, I sought to study the craft of writing: I wanted to effect change through storytelling. After dabbling in trade, magazine, and academic publishing, both as contributor and editor, I eventually moved to research communication. Now, at Impact Science, I lead a team of creative content developers in a production studio to tell stories in text, visual, and audio formats for anyone in the research ecosystem. Today, I’m not where I planned to be, but I get to color the world with the stories of real people doing work that matters and inspires. My research at Gartner (a management consultant company) helps Chief Compliance and Ethics Officers entails understanding employee perspectives around workplace ethics and culture. Given the pandemic pressures that employees face, I strive to create ethical and engaged workplace cultures. During college, I was engaged in my classes and coursework simply because I loved what I was studying. I’m still dealing with stories — except they’re real-life employee ones — and I carry my literature training while critically assessing how to derive evidence-based conclusions. We compare these conclusions against prevalent practices in different companies to eventually generate well-written insights that drive progressive actions among our clients.

My skills acquired through studying literature continue to serve me well in a job that, as a literature student, I wouldn't have envisioned doing but seems like a natural fit today.

In 2015, I embarked on a journey of ‘unlearning,’ inspired by the teachings and the immense support and encouragement of our professors. Miranda’s multicultural environment, and its rigorous culture of debate and discussion inside and outside the classroom, opened my world and equipped me with the ability to question social injustices. It gives me the confidence to pursue my dreams and to navigate societies and cultures in a constant state of flux. Consequently, I developed strong analytical and writing skills, discovered my own voice, and became aware of the intricacies involved in writing, editing, translating, and publishing. After completing my BA, I studied my Masters in English at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Currently, I’m studying a second M.A in Publishing from University College London (2022) and working part time with a firm called Examberry Media to develop course materials.

I have always been passionate about reading and writing and my courses in English literature in Miranda gave me a good foundation in building my critical analysis especially of the media. I joined a post-graduate diploma course in Editing and Publishing offered by Jadavpur University, which gave me a better idea of what it means to work in a publishing house. The fields of publishing and literature hang together as one needs a good knowledge of existing literature and theory to work in publishing, whether academic or trade. I enjoy the process of editing, which requires research, a critical eye and attention to detail. I will be joining as an Assistant Editor (ELT) at Viva Books (Delhi) from July 2022, and I hope to have a promising career in the field.

Life after Miranda has been both challenging and exciting. Ariels, the MH English Dramatics Society, ignited my passion for theatre. The ‘Theatre Appreciation Course’ at the National School of Drama started my journey as an actor. I applied for the three year P.G. Diploma at NSD only to be rejected! Undeterred, I spent the next two years as a freelance actor, writer and translator and learned Daastaangoi, the ancient art of Urdu storytelling. In 2016 I was selected by NSD! Like MH, it opened new avenues for me and helped me grow as an artist and individual. After graduating from NSD, I moved to Mumbai in 2019. At present, I work as a theatre practitioner while exploring acting and writing for the camera.

Studying English Hons. at MH was a transformative experience that challenged my biases and assumptions and built a foundation for critical thinking. It gave me a lot of transferable skills, which would hold me in good stead, in any career. After completing my PhD from JNU, I worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Lucknow and taught Communicative English to nursing cadets of the Indian Army. I have authored a book with Harper Collins and published several poems and stories in The Times of India, Khaleej Times and Cosmopolitan India. I have been awarded for ‘Excellence in Teaching’by the UP Higher Education Dept. At present, I have taken a break from academia to work as a freelance communications consultant and to write a novel.

After my graduation from Miranda in 2015 I studied my masters in English lit from JNU. I was the first person in my entire family to choose literature, or well, to even study beyond graduation. Today, I am a Culture Editor and I manage two websites, the Indian Cultural Forum and a cultural e-journal, Guftugu. From writing, editing, translating, video editing and graphic designing to talking to some great writers and artists, attending and reporting on cultural events, seeing books being compiled and published and being a part of that process, this profession has taught me a lot. But it also made me realise that the visual medium is what I would like to pursue. I am now trying to pick up the camera and work on the projects that have been planned but not executed yet.

My Miranda House experience was exciting, inspiring and most importantly it instilled in me a self-confidence that defines who I am today. Within its iconic red-brick walls I discovered what it means to be part of a community of women who take pride in celebrating each other. While at MH, I was part of a production of “Antigone” organisedby the English Department. That was a transformative experience for me, because it planted in me a dream: to go to National School of Drama and pursue a career in Theatre and Performance. For me, Miranda House is a special place that taught me to believe in myself.

Pursuing English Hons. altered my socio-political views and also the course of my life and it continues to impact how I operate in the world today. Besides class hours, my involvement with the dramatics society, interactions with students and teachers and exposure to art and literature, pushed me beyond the realms of who I thought I could be. MH and the English department nurtured and encouraged me to realise my potential and for making me the woman I am proud to be today I currently work as a freelance content creator, actor and writer. I’ve worked with formidable names in the entertainment business like Netflix and Hotstar, and collaborated with brands like Amazon, Myntra and Nykaa. I’ve been featured for my work in Forbes India, Grazia, Vogue and Cosmopolitan India.

I am a Delhi based illustrator, visual artist and theatre practitioner. I have a Masters' degree in Media and Cultural Studies from TISS, and in Illustration as Authorial Practice from Falmouth University, UK.

My overarching interest lies in collective playfulness as an invaluable mode of meaning-making. In 2021 I received the Cultural Activism Award, from the international organisation, Cultures of Resistance. I am currently artist-in-residence with the Tenacious Bee Collective, a group of beekeepers, farmers and artists committed to ethical bee-keeping. I am also part of Aagaaz Theatre Foundation's Facilitators' Collective.

I completed my B.A. in English in the year 2018 and my experience with Miranda House continues to live on, within me. With each year of becoming the woman that I want to be, I get closer to the values instilled by all the women I met at MH, many of whom continue to be a very important part of my life. I currently study M.A. in Communication and Media in Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary while working as a coordinator for Central European University’s Centre for Media, Data and Society, as a photographer, a creative artist, an event manager, a dog sitter, you name it! A creative journey that began at MH’s Literary Society culminated in working with companies like Viacom CBS, Budapest Pride Rainbow Foundation, Cine Arts Entertainment, etc. I owe my confidence, patience, courage, feminism to MH. It’s the only place I would return to, if I could turn back time!

From subconsciously choreographing the poetry that was being discussed in class to recognising the performative potential of literary texts and literary potential of performance texts, my undergrad years inspired me to pursue a double masters in Literature and Dance. Throughout post graduation, my research interests have diversified into an interdisciplinary enquiry into the intersections and relationships between literature, performing arts, translation, painting and photography. Today, as a classical artist and trainer, I have performed in prestigious cultural festivals across the country, my practice being informed by a critical perspective inculcated in the literature classroom. With analytic awareness of every word and gesture in performance, and subject matter drawing upon literary works of different traditions and languages, I attempt to bring Kathak to newer audiences while upholding the integrity of the pure classical art form.

My professional journey began with theatre at Miranda House, where I studied English Literature. I was the President of Ariels and met some of the most incredible women. This was followed by a stint in advertising, branding, and design in Mumbai. After some time, I relocated to Delhi and realised my interest in understanding human behaviour and mind, and I enrolled myself for an M.A. in Psychology. I have also qualified the National Eligibility Test for Assistant Professorship in Psychology. Now, I work in the social sector as a communications expert for a women’s rights and advocacy organisation, Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3). I’m also a Women Deliver Young Leader, working for gender equality and for the health and rights of women and girls.

During my first semester at Miranda, I was miserable after switching to B.A. (Honours) English from the Computer Science Programme. But now, seven years after graduation, I am delighted I made that decision! My career paths have been possible because of my studying literature at Miranda. I have worked as a casting assistant and written short scenes for Mira Nair’s A Suitable Boy,filmed an award-winning documentary, been a senior researcher at the Child Poverty Action Research Lab hosted by Katha India, and provided editorial services to prominent universities and to the World Bank Group. I am a Literature graduate with a penchant for reading and creative writing. I finished my Masters, I worked in the non-profit and conservation sector as a communication professional for over five years.

Studying literature helped me understand myself and the social realities around me. It exposed me to diverse ways of thinking, living and being. It made me aware of how our society, our culture constructs different roles, expectations and privileges for different social identities; it grounded me and helped me rethink social, developmental, economic paradigms necessary for social change and engage in thoughtful dialogue towards the same.I currently work for Nature Conservation Foundation (High Altitude Program) as their outreach coordinator and I am interested in exploring wildlife conservation through the lens of social justice, community inclusion and intersectionality.

I was born in Kashmir and have always been a passionate reader of Literature. Studying Literature in MH, I had the most wonderfully liberating time. After graduation, I pursued my Masters in Dispute and Conflict Resolution, Dept. of Law, SOAS, London and realized the importance of the work of feminist lawmakers. I did my law conversion course in 2019 along with pro bono work at Immigration Tribunals and helping domestic violence survivors. In 2020 I graduated from Central European University, Budapest, with specialization in Human Rights and Constitutional law.

My experience at MH and subsequent work made me want to advocate for human rights, particularly women’s rights as an intersectional brown feminist. I currently work as a Human Rights Advocate in New York.

The three years I studied in Miranda House have been immensely instrumental in my personal development and the most cherished experience of my life. The inspiring and empowering faculty made each lecture engaging. Learning went beyond the classroom, and interactions with my professors and peers outside the class helped me develop into the person I am today. I was also a member of Ariels, The English Theatre Society, which gave exposure and helped me learn essential skills like teamwork. After completing my degree, I went on to pursue MSc. in Emerging Economies and International Development at King’s College London and I was awarded a distinction for my academic performance. I’m currently working as a Coordinator, Global Agenda at the World Energy Council.

A year after graduating from MH, I joined a post-graduate LLB course at Delhi University, and in that one year my reading list had admittedly taken a politico-legal turn. The eighteen months of law school have constantly taken me back to Room 101 of MH, to our discussions about the evolution of society, about contextualizing literary pieces, about historicizing the author even before we began analyzing what their words could mean. It was only when I moved away from literary works that I realized the value of critical thinking especially while studying legal philosophies and codes. Possibly, it is the literature student in me who refuses to stop at this, it is she who wants to pursue research and work on improving what we understand as ‘law’.
