About Dr. Harish Chander Ahuja

Dr. Harish Chander Ahuja was born on June 21, 1937, in Bannu, then part of Undivided India. Following the Partition of India, his family relocated to Uttar Pradesh. One of six siblings, he was raised in modest circumstances and learned early the values of perseverance, hard work, and resilience.

Despite numerous challenges, Dr. Ahuja pursued higher education with determination and earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi, in 1973. He began his professional career as a researcher and later served as a Clinical Biochemist at Tirath Ram Hospital. In 1984, he established his own pathology laboratory, which he successfully managed for 22 years until his retirement.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Ahuja was a person of warmth, kindness, and unwavering optimism. In his later years, he found immense joy in reading books and nurturing his garden. Known for his infectious smile and generous spirit, he touched the lives of many through his encouragement, blessings, and genuine concern for others.

Dr. Ahuja firmly believed that dedication, faith, and perseverance could help individuals overcome adversity and achieve their aspirations. He inspired countless young people to pursue their goals with confidence and integrity. Above all, he cherished his family and remained deeply rooted in his values and faith throughout his life.

Dr. Harish Chander Ahuja passed away on May 21, 2025, at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dr. Sunita Ahuja, and their two daughters.

Through this scholarship, Dr. Sunita Ahuja seeks to honor his memory by supporting deserving students and encouraging them to pursue academic excellence, resilience, and service to society—the very principles that guided Dr. Ahuja throughout his life.
